I worked with John at The University of Melbourne from September, 1978 until his retirement in 2002. John was a great work colleague and we all enjoyed many laughs and jokes at work. I know he will be sadly missed by many. RIP John.
I worked with John at Melbourne University from 1978 until he retired in 2002. John always projected a rugged persona that hid a very rare, big hearted generosity of spirit. It was a privilege and a pleasure to work with John and I am confident he shall be missed by many. Rest in peace John. I am sure you have gone to a better place.
John I will miss you had some really good times over the last 53 years rip mate
Dear Bob and Cool, my best wishes to you both. I hope you are both well. Crystal

I t may be John that you have mistaken my son John for his uncle. Young John is thriving in San Diego with his wife and baby daughter. Thanks for the thoughts though

I worked with John for 15 years at The Uni and traveled around Australia with him and Tony “Bugs”Guida many times, we had fantastic times but Bob was right all he wanted to do was get from point A to point B as quick as we could. He was always by passing major attractions say, no Ove seen it, it is crap.
We had many a cold beer at The Clyde Hotel in Carlton every Friday with Graeme Britt, Bugsie myself and numerous others.
He will be sadly missed by me and all his friends at The Clyde.
RIP John
I met John, like so many others, at the Brunswick Cricket Club. He did more than his time serving the club and its members. I always enjoyed seeing him when he made it back down to Gillon Oval. We will miss him down there.
I worked with John at The University of Melbourne Maintenance from 1984 as an 18 year old until he retired. Once John joined us in the Office my name was no longer Ange it was Hey Kid, we had many laughs & we enjoyed Friday Lunches at the Clyde Hotel. I know he will be sadly missed by Family & Friends. RIP John
Always enjoyed John’s dry wit at the bar after training or a game at Brunswick Cricket Club. Great to hear more about his life – thanks Bob and Cool.
I also worked for many years with John at the Melbourne Uni and had just bought house in Brunswick about the same time he did we spent a lot time with each other renovating each house had a lot of good times drinking and partying in Brunswick. The live funeral was excellent and l think a lot of friends would have appreciated it do too the present circumstance sincere regards
I always remmber John as “Mr Reliable”. John was able to see through academic noise to ensure that the Job was done right the first time, in keeping with the standard in Maintenance. I hope he enjoyed his retirement.
