To everyone who helped organise the memorial service my deepest and heartfelt thanks. Also to those who attended too,am so glad and grateful you could make it. Am blessed to have had Dave as my brother and John as my wonderful brother-in-law. To the lovely Nicole ,Ich Fuhle Mit Dir In Tiefer Trauer- so sorry for your loss dear one. Let’s continue to speak truth to power asJan the MC suggested. Grazie mille and love to all

Thanks for the link to the service for David. It was wonderful to be able to feel a part of the ceremony. What an amazing life David had. What really came through was his enduring friendships, commitment to activism, and his strong and unending support for those whose voices went unheard. All the speakers spoke lovingly and informatively about David. Of course, we especially loved hearing from our dear Diana, John and Annie. We fondly remember David’s smiling face and accepting presence whenever we crossed paths. Rest in Peace David.

I am very sorry I did not attend the funeral service. I only found out about the memorial yesterday.

Dave was a comrade of mine at la Trobe University and in the broader political movement, during the late 1960’s and in the 1970’s.

In all our struggles together I was greatly impressed by David’s’ intelligence, political insights and compassion. In a very real sense he was a mentor to me.

David always showed courage, passion and commitment in all the causes and campaigns we pursued together.

He was most certainly a inspiration for many people -and he provided a model to emulate in both his personal and public life,

    David, rest in peace,

    Your comrade, Fergus

I didn’t know or I would certainly have there. I deeply appreciated Dave’s insight quiet determination and comradeship through the La Trobe fight to free Barry Fergus and Brian shelter Rod and as part of the longer term to destroy the NCC clique
