    Dear Margaret, rest in peace.
Jaishree and I got to know you in 1978 as soon as we arrived in Australia, through Kevin Downing, who was my laboratory colleague at RSBS/ANU and your flying colleague. You and Kevin have taken us on many enjoyable and memorable flights!
With warm wishes to your family and friends,
    Srini and Jaishree

Condolences to Margaret Travers’ extended family.
Margaret Travers was a remarkable woman in so many ways. A talented, determined, and dependable language expert, teacher, administrator, and pilot, she also took a delight in most other things she did, (and was often a pioneer in each area). When someone suggested some new activity, Margaret’s most frequent reply was “That would be fun.” Not surprisingly, she had a large circle of friends, and her loyalty to her friends also meant that she had friends from many stages of her life.
I am very honoured to have been a friend of Margaret’s.
And I would say of Margaret Travers, “A life well lived”.

I have recently also spoken to a number of people in Canberra whose lives crossed paths with Margaret Travers, and they all remembered her very warmly:
Margaret Travers was a member of Canberra Aero Club for many years, (and had held the post of Club Captain at one stage, and had become a life member). The President of the Club passed on condolences, and many who knew her had very fond memories, and mentioned her devoted and energetic style.
Many members among the ACT group of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association also remembered Margaret Travers with great affection, and often with gratitude for her encouragement in their own flying skill development, and also for her loyal friendship.

Blue skies and tailwinds, Margaret. Even though you were petite – not small, as you always reminded us – you were always ready to embark on big aviation adventures.

Sympathy to Margaret’s family. Many laughs, good food, and fun times remembered. Sorry I missed the service..

Margaret was a valued member of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association and in her later years, a friend of many in the Victorian Branch. Certainly an adventuring spirit and a truly lovely lady.
