In a strange way arriving in Bambalapity on the morning of TJ’s passing was somewhat serene
Ten stringhoppers two dosa with potato and a plain tea which we had shared so many a time at saraswathi lodge was what I had for breakfast on the 20th morning. With TJ on my mind. Walking along Ramya Road, Asoka gardens, Kothalawala gardens that morning is something I will cherish as a very special time with my dear friend.
He often wanted to see photographs of this area and I used to ask him of what his memories were and I always said to him” I don’t want to ruin your wonderful memories of Bambalapitya.”I did tell hime that he would not recognise the place and kept the images away from him.
Spotify was his go to in the car on Saturdays.
Listening to Christmas carols will not be the same as he used to sing carols in the car every Saturday in December there were very special days. He would have received a lifetime award for his support for Australian sport
Man I will miss that dude !
RIPTJ
So very sad to hear about the passing of Uncle Tony. A lovely, warm and wise fellow who made me laugh and we shared a love of cricket, the St Kilda Football Club, good food and music.
My best wishes and love to the extended de Bruin and Joseph families – especially Arlene. Tony – you will be truely missed. – Craig
